MICHAEL RUBY (Librettist/Lyricist of Love, NY) is the winner of the 2009 American Harmony Prize for the musical Love, NY, co-written with Robert Rokicki. The show was seen in concert at New World Stages in New York CIty and Curtain Call Theater in Stamford, Connecticut. Michael's other musicals/plays include: Ethan Frome (w/ Adam Gwon, music/lyrics: reading/workshop with The York Theatre Company, The University of Oklahoma; featured in National Alliance for Musical Theatre 2006 Songwriter's Showcase;); Swing For Victory! (reading at The York Theatre Company); The Greatest Holiday Musical…Ever! (Don't Tell Mama); Drinking the Hemlock (Boston University). Outside the theater, Michael is Associate Creative Director at the advertising agency Stein Rogan + Partners. Michael studied playwriting and screenwriting at the undergraduate and graduate levels with Slaughterhouse Five adapter Stephen Geller and Nobel Laureate Derek Walcott at Boston University. Michael is a member of the Dramatists Guild and Actors Equity Association.
