Joel Ferrell

Joel Ferrell  JOEL FERRELL (Director of Chess) is an Artistic Associate with the Dallas Theatre Center. For the DTC, Mr. Ferrell was director/choreographer of Cabaret and A Christmas Carol, director of Cotton Patch Gospel, choreographer of …Bird, …Plane…Superman, and associate director/choreographer of My Fair Lady.  His work at Plano Repertory Theatre includes Proof (2005 Leon Rabin award for best production of a play) and Joesph…Technicolor Dreamcoat, (2003 Leon Rabin awards for outstanding direction and choreography of a musical).  For Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, Mr. Ferrell has directed Aida and The Wizard of Oz.  From 1996-2001, he was the Artistic Director of Casa Mañana, directing productions including Carousel, The King and I, Big River, Jekyll and Hyde, The Rocky Horror Show, Sleuth, Steel Magnolias and Once on this Island.  Mr. Ferrell has been instrumental in helping develop new works, serving on the New Works selection Committee of The National Alliance for Musical Theatre.
